Calendar/Holidays

The school runs a session of three terms. The 1st term (September to December), the 2nd term (January to April), and the 3rd term (April to July) of each academic year. The school observes midterm breaks at the seventh week, government recognized public holidays and terminal holidays.

Transportation

The school buses are mainly used for regular academic excursions per term.

Rules & Regulations

Our school disciplinary committee investigates offences and makes recommendations for appropriate disciplinary actions. This covers all forms of misconduct/misbehaviour in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations given to all students upon admission into MTI. Some of the excerpts of the rules and regulations are seen below:
1) LATENESS TO SCHOOL/CLASSES: Moring devotion starts by 7:45am and end at 8:10am. Any students who is not present in assembly is liable to an appropriate punishment. school gate closes at 9:00am against students who are late to school.
2) WANDERING/LOITERING: While the school is in session, students must not loiter or visit the canteen when it is not break time. Any students that violate the rule, shall receive three strokes of cane.
3) No Student May leave the school compound without the express and written permission by the principal or his representative. All movement outside the school must be through the gate
4) The Class room is a noiseless zone, There must be absolute silence at ALL TIME in the classroom. The class manager is responsible for maintaining order and conduciveness of the classroom.
5) OBEDIENCE TO SCHOOL BELL: All students must obey the bell as soon as it is rung for assembly, changeof lesson, call for manual labour
6) RESPECT AN OBEDIENCE TO SCHOOL AUTHORITY: All students must respect and obey all constituted authorities of the school. These are: the Principal, management staff, teaching and non-teaching staff, school prefect. Acts of insubordination directed at any officials shall be referred to the school disciplinary committee or action taken by the principal of the school
7) Quarreling and fighting are strictly prohibited. Any case of fighting shall earn for those involved four weeks' suspension.
8) STEALING: Any case of stealing eastablished against a student carries instant dismissal from the school.
9) FOUL LANGUAGE/NAME CALLING: Any foul language use by any student attracts six strokes of the cane and the student will be made to apologize to the person involved at the devotion
10) Students must do class assignment, projects, test and examinations which are the only basis of assessment of their academic liabilities. No teacher shall conduct any test(s) and examination to students who delibretely stayed away from such assessment
11) EXAMINATION MALPRACTICE: All forms of cheating/expo in examination are prohibited. Offenders shall be subjected to summary dismissal from the school or repetition of class
12) Students are not allowed to bring to school phone, radio, MP3 cassette recorder or related music devices. This shall be confiscated by the school authority if found on any student
13) ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL: No Student should be absent from school without written permission from the principal or any persons acting on his behalf. Defaulters are liable to suspension indefinitely
14) SCHOOL UNIFORM: All students must wear the recommended school uniforms for the respective days of the weeek. No painting of fingers, toe nails and lips, Earrings, bangles, neckleces, must not be worn to school. All female student are allowed to wear beret during morning devotions. Hair style for female students should be braid-all back or low cut. Any items ceased from students such as wrong uniform, caps, sweaters, slippers, unauthorized shoes etc. shall be returned at the end of the term and for SS3 at the end of their final exams.
15) PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES: All school fees should be paid to the school bank account at the resumption of the school. No student/parents should make payment to any staff. 16) GOOD SOCIAL HABITS: No student is permitted to defecate or urinate anywhere other than inside the oilet-rooms or lavatories assigned to them. Toilets and urinaries must be kept clean at all times by washing and sweeping. Do not liter the classroom/school compound with pieces of paper; fruits peels; biscuits and pure water sachets; offenders shall be brought to book. All litters must be put into dust-bins or waste paper basket.
17) EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: All students must take part in the school extra-curricular activities. These include sports and games, manual labour; matching; dramatic club; science club; jets; debates;news and current affairs club etc. Every student must belong to not less thsn two clubs
18) SCHOOL PROPERTIES: Any student who damages any school properties must replace or repair it
19) LABORATORY (COMPUTER, CHEMISTRY, PHYSICS, BIOLOGY AND FOOD/NUTRITION): No student should use the laboratory without authorization and superivsion. Any student who damages any laboratory equipment shall replace it.
20) CULTISM/UNAUTHORIZED MEETING: No student or group of students shall hold any meeting or cultism activities in the school, if found, such student will be handewd over to the police and stands dimissed
21) MOLESTATION/CORPORAL PUNISHMENT; No student should molest or inflict corporal punishment, slap or bully a fellow student. Teh offence attracts two weeks suspension.
22) PHYSICAL INJURY: Any student who inflicts injury on another student shall be responsible for medical treatement of the injured student.
23) REPORT TO PARENTS; Students who have issues with fellow students or teachers must FIRST report to the school autority for necessary action. An official letter of invitation shall be sent to the parents concerned if need be. Bringing parents and siblings to quarrel with students, teachers or school authority will attract automatic expulsion
24) WRITING ON THE WALL/BOARD: There should be no unauthorized writing on the walls and boards. The offence carries 12 strokes of the cane for writing on the board and 20 litres of paint for writing on the wall or dismissal.
25) UNHEALHTY RELATIONSHIP: Any student found in an unhealthy relationship with another student violates the good moral norms of the school which attracts invitation of parents for adequate disciplinary action on their wards
26) All cases of ill-health should be promptly reported to the school autority for immmediate attention.
27) These regulations are meant for the good of all students and must be strictly adhered to. Any student who violets any of the above rules should be ready for any disciplinary actions the school authority deems fit.
